Job Description

  • Providing superior customer service through efficiently and accurately processing customer purchases. To effectively handle, display and rotate stock on the fixtures whilst meeting Customers’ needs.
  • Serving customers (via Mode of sale including Loyalty) and dealing with and responding to customer enquiries in various departments e.g. Produce, Deli, Bakery, Customer Service and Fill Team.
  • Packing customer purchases into bags/trolleys & preparing pickups.
  • Ordering change & counting and balancing the cash.
  • Operating POS equipment, cleaning workstations and using PA system.
  • Packing and preparing stock across all departments (e.g. Deli, Produce, barbeque chickens) according to Company procedures including front-filling chiller and freezer.
  • Merchandising for example, building ends.
  • Accurately checking pick labels to ensure delivery of correct stock.
  • Identifying and filling out of stocks including impulse stands.
  • Some ordering for specific items (e.g. a specific aisle or category).
  • Rotating stock according to Company procedures.
  • Loading/unloading stock trolleys.
  • Removing cardboard and crushing in bale press.
  • Dealing with processing of distressed (damaged, stolen, out of date) stock in the designated area in the Back Dock.
  • Assisting the Back-Dock Receiver to unload trucks and operating manual pallet jacks.
  • Conducting dump stock runs and putting away dump stock.
  • General cleaning duties i.e.: clean-up of spillages etc.
  • Ensuring the department is compliant with OH&S policies and procedures for area of responsibility.
